The average lawn uses over 41,690 gallons of water each year!
To calculate how many square feet your yardhas, multiply the width of the yard in feet by the length of the yard in feet. (Example: If the width of your yard is 16 ft. and the length of your yard is 27 ft. The total square footage of your yard is 432 ft.) It takes 0.623 gallons of water to deliver 1" of water to a square foot of lawn. Now, multiply 432 by 0.623 to calculate how many gallons are used in just one watering. (Answer: 269.14 gallons of water!)
